Phyliss M. Seigel, 81 of Kendall Park, died Tuesday in the University Medical Center At Princeton at Plainsboro surrounded by her loving family. Born in New York City, NY, she was a resident of Kendall Park since 1965. Phyliss was a graduate of Wagner College, NYC with a BA in English. Formerly a substitute teacher at South Brunswick Schools and a para-professional at Greenbrook School she was also a school bus driver for many years. She was a former assistant girl scout leader at Christ the King Church, Kendall Park. Phyliss was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling and was committed to her many charitable organizations. Daughter of the late Richard and Isola (Koechli) Schmidt, she is survived by her husband of 61 years Lawrence Seigel, 3 sons and 2 daughters-in-law Richard L. Seigel, Jeffrey G. and Palma Seigel, Robert K. and Lucy Seigel, 4 daughters and a son-in-law Alison Twiggs, Leslie Henry, Lauren Seigel , Elizabeth and Frank Cotilla, and 11 grandchildren, Kate, Dan, Sarah, Samantha, Michael, Chelsea, Andrew, Halle, Victoria, Danielle, Christopher and a great-granddaughter Mila. A graveside service will be held 10:30 am, Friday March 14, 2014 at the New Cemetery of Somerville 192 South Bridge Street, Somerville, NJ 08876. Arrangements are under the direction of the M.J. Murphy Funeral Home, Monmouth Junction.
