Obituary of Rosemarie Belmont

Rosemarie Belmont, 87, of Kendall Park, NJ passed away on March 7, 2023. 

Born in Vineland, NJ, Rosemarie is a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Vineland, class of 1952; she proudly graduated from high school at the age of 16.  Rosemarie worked as a book keeper at Moos, Kelly and McCaig in Finderne, NJ for several years.  She also worked in reinsurance at both Continental Insurance and Chubb Insurance and then retired from Chubb.  Not satisfied with retirement, Rosemarie purchased Princeton Wine and Liquor in Princeton, NJ in 1997.  She was lovingly known as “Mrs. B” to all before selling her store in 2013.

Rosemarie and her family were long-time residents of Manville, NJ and Plainsboro, NJ before she and her husband moved to Kendall Park in 2010.  Even after selling her store, Rosemarie always kept herself busy.  She was an avid reader and had amassed quite a reading collection over the years.  She enjoyed gardening and tending to her house plants. 

Daughter of the late Ralph T. and Philomena (Mayme) Patrone, and sister of the late Maryann Borden, she is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Robert Belmont; 2 children Stephanie Shaffer and Robert (Bob) Belmont (Patti); siblings Sr. Maria Raphaela Patrone, SSJ and Ralph T. Patrone, Jr.; and Maggie and Billy, whom she thought of as her own grandchildren. Rosemarie is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Viewing will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023 from 9:30am until 10:30am at the M.J.Murphy Funeral Home, 616 Ridge Road, Monmouth Jct., NJ 08852.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Friday at Queenship of Mary Roman Catholic Church, 16 Dey Rd., Plainsboro, NJ.  Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park, Jamesburg.
