Obituary of Mark Patrick Avino

Mark Patrick Avino, 62, of Plainsboro, New Jersey passed away on February 1, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family. Mark was born in Newark and raised in Belleville where he met the love of his life, Laurie, at 16 years old, whom he married in 1984, beginning a beautiful partnership and family of their own. Mark was a loving and devoted father, husband, and brother and he lived to put his family first. Years were spent coaching his kids’ sports teams, bagging lunches, trick-or-treating in costumes, being there whenever they called, and becoming a confidante and support system as they grew older. He loved entertaining both family and friends – he was known as quite the grill master and was the first to toast with a Sam Adams or a very small glass of red wine!

Mark spent the majority of his career in information technology, and most recently was employed by NewsCorp as a Manager, of Main Frame, Batch and Middleware. His work ethic carried over to his home life. Never being one to sit still he always made sure everyone in his family was taken care of - whether that be helping them with technology, household projects, cooking for them, or simply being a listening ear.

Mark is predeceased by his parents Anthony and Rachel (Ferrara) Avino, and brother Anthony; and survived by his loving wife Laurie Anne (Nitti) Avino, children Christopher (wife Emily and son Dominic), Alyssa Mancella (husband Antonio), and Jillian, sister LisaMaria, and niece Kara-Lynn. In addition, Mark’s wonderful in-laws, Joseph and Irene Nitti, and brother-in-law Joseph Nitti (wife Joanie and daughters Rebecca and Gianna).

A memorial visitation will be held from 11:00AM-1:00PM followed by a service on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at M.J. Murphy Funeral Home, 616 Ridge Road, Monmouth Junction, 08852.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Lustgarten Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.
