Obituary of Theodore J. Burns
Theodore “Ted” J. Burns, 79, of Monmouth Junction, passed away on December 18, 2022. He was born in Philadelphia, PA, lived in West Windsor, and settled in Monmouth Junction. He attended Father Judge High School, La Salle College, and received his JD from Seton Hall. He worked in the financial district of New York for 30 years. Ted was a big part of the community in West Windsor. For many years he was the President of Pop Warner Football and also was involved in youth baseball and basketball. Ted was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan. He enjoyed vacationing in Mexico and spending time at the beach in Avalon.
Predeceased by his parents Theodore and Catherine (Colgan) Burns and his brother Robert. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Carol (Schlude) Burns; daughter Kimberly Clancy of Newtown, PA; son Jeffrey Burns (Karen) of Robbinsville; five grandsons Brian, Brendan, Sean, Cade, and Cameron; brother Joseph (Mary Beth); sister Joan Kahny (Russell); and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2022 from 5-8pm at M.J. Murphy Funeral Home, 616 Ridge Road at New Road, Princeton, NJ 08852. Funeral will begin at 9am on Friday, December 23, 2022 at the funeral home. Mass will be celebrated at 10am at Queenship of Mary Church, 16 Dey Road, Plainsboro, NJ 08536. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, American Diabetes Association, or a charity of your choice in his name.
