Zhang Jingjuan, 84, of Princeton Junction passed away peacefully on November 29, 2022 with her daughter and granddaughter by her side.
She was born on December 23, 1937 in Jingjiang, Wuxi, China and graduated from Wuxi Normal University. She first taught at several elementary schools in Suzhou and then served as the director of the Suzhou Medical College’s kindergarten. She was then a librarian of Suzhou Medical College and served as the Deputy Director of the Retirement Office. She emigrated to America on July 30, 2007 and has resided in the Plainsboro and Princeton Junction area since.
Zhang Jingjuan was a strong and energetic woman. She loved traveling and visiting new places, walking over ten thousand steps on a beautiful sunny April day earlier this year when she celebrated her granddaughter’s birthday in Durham, North Carolina with her daughter and granddaughter. She also loved playing the piano, socializing with her friends and community at her adult daycare and her senior living center, and watching videos in virtual reality.
Even during her valiant fight against advanced lymphoma, she remained optimistic and resilient. She continued to play piano to comfort her daughter and fight her own discomfort. Her family feels an ocean of grief after her loss, our hearts are broken from her passing. But we know there is no pain in Heaven and she will be at peace.
She is predeceased by her father Zhang Qiyong and mother Liu Peiliang, her husband Xu Zuliu, and her three sisters. She is survived by her daughter Xu Xiaoqing, her son-in-law Zhou Xiaoming, her granddaughter Ting-Ting Zhou, her grandson-in-law Christopher Choi, and many extended family members who reside in China.
Visitation and memorial services will be held on Monday, December 5th from 3-4pm at M.J. Murphy Funeral Home.
