Obituary of Jeffrey P. Hoffmann
Jeffrey P. Hoffmann, 80, of Kendall Park, passed away Monday, August 15, 2022 at St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in Passaic, he was a graduate of Bergen Catholic High School and lived in Haworth, NJ before moving to Kendall Park in 1970. Jeffrey worked at many places in the warehouse industry throughout his life including Red Devil, Midas International, and most recently Tyler Distribution in Dayton from which he retired. After his retirement he found his true passion as a school bus driver for First Student with the South Brunswick Township School District; a job he absolutely loved. Jeff was a faithful member of Saint Augustine of Canterbury Church in Kendall Park, where, in his early days, he was active in Bingo nights, the Father’s Love basketball tournament, and the Knights of Columbus wheelchair brigade, where he would bring disabled veterans from the Lyons hospital to Mass on Sunday mornings. A 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #6345, he was also active with the St Augustine food pantry and was a member of the VFW Men’s Auxiliary Post 9111.
Son of the late George and Anna Hoffmann, he was predeceased by his brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Charlie and Rita Farrell and Thomas Kraus. Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Joan Hoffmann; his sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy Hoffmann, Jeffrey and Missy Hoffmann and Chris “Kurtis” and Michelle Hoffmann; his grandchildren, Kevin, Justin, Kathleen, Faith, Dean, Max, Lucas, Reagan, Sam and Christopher Jr.; his sister-in-law, Marcy Kraus; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Chris Student, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and good friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 am on Friday, August 19th at Saint Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, 45 Henderson Rd., Kendall Park. Friends may call from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm on Thursday the 18th at MJ Murphy Funeral Home, 616 Ridge Road at New Road., Monmouth Junction. Cremation and Inurnment will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Saint Augustine’s food pantry at the address above.
