Obituary of Howard Wallace Andrews

Howard Wallace Andrews, 99, of Plainsboro Township passed away peacefully on Friday, July 22, 2022 at Maplewood Senior Living in Plainsboro, NJ. 

Howard was born in Syracuse, NY and enjoyed summers in Truxton, NY at the Wallace farm. He served in the Navy in World War II studying RADAR at RPI, MIT and Harvard, where he later earned his Ph. D. He worked his entire career at Bell Telephone Laboratories, Murray Hill and Holmdel, NJ. advancing to Fellow in Microwave Communication and later in Long Lines.

Howard was a life-long learner. He was an avid collector of books, autographs, technology instruments and automobiles.  He was an active member of Holy Cross church in Rumson, NJ, and after he retired, he earned a Masters in Divinity at Georgian Court College. 

Howard was predeceased by his parents Howard Alexander and Katherine (Wallace) Andrews, and two brothers James L Andrews and David R Andrews.  

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Mary Tynan Andrews, six sons, James, Howard, Carl, Philip, Ronald and Ross, five daughters-in-law, a sister Annette Biché, twelve grandchildren, seven- great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and godchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30AM on August 6, 2022 at Queenship of Mary Roman Catholic Church 16 Dey Road, Plainsboro Township 08536. Burial will be at a later date in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940.
