On Tuesday, June 14, 2022, Norman F. Hoover, loving husband and father of three children, passed away peacefully, just shy of his 87th birthday.Norman was born on June 28,1935, in New Brunswick, NJ and grew up in East Brunswick, NJ where his father, James Hoover, was Chief of Police. Norman was honorably discharged after serving 4 years in the United States Navy. He was a very talented craftsman who built his own home on Prigmore Street in East Brunswick.
Norman worked for Dupont as a carpenter in their carpenter shop until he retired in 1985. He was a proud member of the Philo Lodge in South River and was also a Shriner for many years. As a founding member of the “Black Ants” Gunning Club, Norman loved his trips to Vermont, Maine and Pennsylvania where he enjoyed hunting and socializing with his good friends.
Norman was preceded in death by his loving wife, Frances Hoover. He is survived by his three children, Scott (son) and Heidi Hoover in South Brunswick, Glenn (son) and Sharon Hoover in Australia, Jill (daughter) and Jim Donohue in Maine. Norman’s seven grandchildren were the light of his life, Timothy Hoover, Christopher Hoover, Lindsay Hoover, Moira Donohue, Conor Donohue, Sophie Hoover and Joseph Hoover. Last but not least, Norman had a great grandson, Nolan Hoover, who inherited his beautiful blue eyes and loved getting to know him.
No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned. The family will notify loved ones in the future when a service is scheduled.
