Ola Eva Lee-Welborn, 92, of West Orange, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday, June 3, 2022 at Princeton Medical Center. Born in Kilmarnock, Virginia, she lived her young life on a farm and moved to Turners Station, Maryland where she met her husband, Thomas Welborn, before moving to Newark, East Orange and West Orange, NJ.
Ola was a kindhearted and devoted wife and mother to her family and the backbone of the family dry cleaning business.
She is well known for her kindness and love. She was devoted to her church, Christ Church in Montclair, NJ where she was a greeter. She was also a praying woman who found her strength in God.
She cared deeply for her family and was one of 7 children – 5 boys and 2 girls. She was preceded in death by her brothers, her husband, Thomas Welborn and daughter, Trishena Welborn. She is survived by her sister, Ellen Burks, daughter, Trizonna (Welborn) Coco, a granddaughter Adina (Coco) Abercrombie, a grandson, Adam Coco, two great grandchildren: Caleigh and Caleb Abercrombie, and loving nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends at a service at Christ Church, 68 Church Street, in Montclair on Friday morning, June 10. A viewing will be from 10:00-11:00 AM followed by a Celebration of Life funeral service from 11:00 – 12:00pm. Ola will be immediately laid to rest at Rosedale Cemetery in Orange, New Jersey, following the service.
