Elaine Sue Bine, 81, of Plainsboro died Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she resided in Hazlet, NJ, Buffalo Grove, Illinois and East Windsor, NJ before moving to Plainsboro in 2007. She graduated Mundelein College of Loyola University with a BA in Textile Design. Elaine retired from a career as an Administrative Assistant. She was an avid Mah Jongg player and taught many friends in her community how to play. She had a green thumb and took pride in her plants and her hobby of growing and sharing African Violets with neighbors and friends. Elaine took a lot of personal development courses in everything from jewelry making to photography, she loved to sew, and in later years, she enjoyed international travel. Elaine always believed in self-improvement and had purpose in everything she did. She loved her family and enjoyed when she had the opportunity to spend quality time with them.
Daughter of the late Benjamin and Fannie (Levenson) Carpet, wife of the late Jerome Bine, grandmother of the late Amanda Callagy, she is survived by her son Barry Bine, 2 daughters and a son-in-law Shari Elessar, Glori Bine-Callagy and her husband Michael Callagy, a brother and 2 sisters in law Arthur and Cheryl Carpet, Barbara Rosenberg, 4 grandchildren Jacob, Kyra, Gabriella, and Michael and his wife Chelsea and a great granddaughter, Valerie.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 am on Friday, May 20, 2022 at the Beth Moses Cemetery, West Babylon, NY.
