Grandpa,
Warm Spring days will always remind me of you. Tire swings and babbling creeks. I remember catching fire flies with Nicole, Nick and Zach in your back yard and thinking nothing of the world except for that back yard. We were never allowed to go into your tool shed…but we tried. Every now and then we would either find a way in, or you would let us in and I can still smell the motor oil and wood - those scents will always remind me of you. Catching frogs, getting muddy, imaginative games with my cousins and siblings. Our childhood memories with you, grandma, family and that magical place, live with me forever. I will always think of you on warm spring days.

I am deeply gutted about the loss of my Father In-Law. He was my second dad and our family's go back to when I was a child. My Uncle Joe & Aunt Carolyn would go on camping trips with the Heacocks & the Kanes when I was little and my parents and myself went on a few as well. Those were the days. Juan was always kind to everyone and when he laughed he really lit up the room. I always loved his smile. I never heard a harsh word come out of his mouth. He never liked gossip or unkind words about anyone. He was truly a loving soul. When I started dating Jonathan and then got married, I was accepted right away by Dad (Juan) and we shared interests with Ancestry (the family tree). Some of my fondest memories are of us sitting and going through old photos and he would tell me who was who and their story. He taught me how to shoot a shotgun! and he was very protective over me. He was always proud of my computer skills and always said so. He was an amazing cook on the grill and we both shared a love for coffee. I always looked forward to his amazing food each weekend. I have such a soft spot in my heart for him that will never go away. He was an amazing Grandfather to mine & Jonathans 4 Children, Nicholas Heacock 33 engaged to (Samantha Polanco) - Kristen Heacock 31 - Owen Heacock 24 gf (Djouhwair-Ines Cheikh) & Brittney Heacock 21. The kids loved him dearly and each one of them have a special place in their heart for their Grandfather. He will be greatly missed by us all. I love you Dad and will always miss you. ~Deb

Our hearts go out to Marge and your wonderful family - what a beautiful human John Heacock was! We will always remember him as the guy with a twinkle in his eye who sat in front of us at church, love him for the way he cared for our daughter like one of his own, admire him for his remarkable capacity for friendship over decades, and for the reminders he offered in church to remember the sacrifices that made our country great, and above all we will love and admire him for the way he cherished Marge in every way, large and small--their relationship gave marriage a good name. His faith, his curiosity, his courage, his generosity, and his compassion made everyone who knew him want to be more like him. We are so grateful for having known him: he made us better. Our deepest condolences to all of his family--and to the friends he made into family. We will miss him. John Heacock's life is one to celebrate.

Kingston is missing a great man and I will have to learn what life without JC in it looks like He has been there for me and my family since I was little. He was there to yell at us when I drove a car into the brook or set it on fire or many other things. But more resent he would lone me his motorcycle to ride until I got my own he was a giver and taught me many things about being a good person and he had faith in god and country you will be missed truly

It’s funny how people come to know each other, some just brief acquaintances and others just meant to be lasting friends. That’s how fortunate I was when I reunited with Johnny, my teenage heartthrob, and was introduced to the John basilone Marine Corps League detachment 190 and John and Marge Heacock. The four of us enjoyed so much of the same things and while John and Johnny talked “military” Marge and I talked “girl stuff “. We ate out with another couple, shared many meals and usually played poker together. We loved the “Us” the 6 of us shared and both Johnny and I are so saddened and broken by the loss of a man that everyone loved and admired. John was always ready to lend a helping hand and to volunteer whenever help was needed especially with the department or in driving Johnny to the airport to fly to Florida to be with me. John and I love John & Marge, and there will always be an empty spot in our hearts for John. We know God has something special for John in HEAVEN and there will be that one star in the sky that will twinkle, just a little bit brighter, tonight.
