Obituary of Walter Thronsen
Walter Thronsen, 78, of Monroe Township passed away Sunday, March 6, 2022 at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center of Plainsboro, NJ. Walter was born in Brooklyn, NY.
He was employed by Curtis 1000 as a sales representative for many years. Walter was a kind, loyal, selfless man who would give you the shirt off his back. He was welcoming and charitable. Walter was a dedicated volunteer for the Jaycees and Tuscarora Inn and Conference Center for many years in addition to co-operating the food pantry at Goodwill Presbyterian Church where he also attended. Walter was a family man. He loved his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Predeceased by his parents Arne and Johanne (Hellstrom) Thronsen;
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Christine (Jeffreys) Thronsen, two daughters and sons-in-law Wendy and Paul Preihs, Heidi and Christian Hoffer, a son and daughter-in-law Leif and Amy Thronsen, a sister and two brothers-in-law Karen and Allen Johannesen, Richard Jeffreys, 9 grandchildren Noah, Kylie, and Colin Preihs, Lindsay, Lauren, and Leah Hoffer, Emma, Luke, and Joel Thronsen, a nephew Mark Johannesen, and many cousins in Norway.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 6-8PM on Thursday March 17, 2022 and from 10-11AM on Friday March 18, 2022 at Bunker Hill Lutheran Brethren Church 235 Bunker Hill Road, Princeton 08540. A Memorial Service will be held at 11AM on Friday March 18, 2022 at Bunker Hill Lutheran Brethren Church 235 Bunker Hill Road, Princeton 08540. Refreshments will be served immediately following the services in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tuscarora Inn and Conference Center and Prison Fellowship.
