Obituary of John William Banfield, Jr.
John William (Jack) Banfield, Jr, 76, of Kendall Park died Saturday, December 18, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. Born in South Amboy, NJ he resided most of his life in South Brunswick, NJ since 1972.
Jack retired in 2010 with over 45 years of service as a Union Electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 456. He was a member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Church.
Son of the late John W. and Ruth E. (Kelly) Banfield, Sr., he is survived by his wife of 53 years Mary (Stone) Banfield,his children John (Tracy), Deirdre Hochman (Christopher), Mary Sachdev, grandchildren Christopher (Valerie), Kelly,Brian, Caitlin, Ashleigh, Sophia, and Matthew, sisters Patricia Peterson and Nancy Riggin.
The Funeral will be held 9:00 am on Wednesday, December 22, from the M.J. Murphy Funeral Home 616 Ridge Road at New Road, Monmouth Junction.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am St. Augustine of Canterbury Church 45 Henderson Road, Kendall Park.
Burial will follow in the Holy Cross Burial Park, EastBrunswick.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 21, from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home.
