Richard John Hilosky, 77, of Kendall Park died Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick after a long illness. Born in Johnstown, PA, he was raised in Hawthorne, NY and has been a resident of South Brunswick for over 32 years. Dick was a graduate of Briarcliff High School class of 1962. Upon graduation he enlisted in the US Navy during the Vietnam war and served aboard the USS Leonard F. Mason (DD-852) stationed in Long Beach, CA. He recently enjoyed many ship reunions held throughout the country hosted by fellow shipmates. In 2019 he and his family hosted a reunion in Philadelphia which, unfortunately, was the last reunion he could attend due to the Covid outbreak. He retired with over 30 years of service as an auditor with IBM, Dayton. He also retired at Ehrlich with 19 years of service as a commercial salesman. Dick enjoyed coaching his children’s soccer and baseball teams. He was also a co-founder of the South Brunswick Pop Warner PAL football league and was an avid hunter.
Son of the late John Michael and Laura “Beatrice” (Hunt) Hilosky, he is survived by his wife of 42 years Mary Jean (Sisco) Hilosky. Two sons and a daughter-in-law John Francis and Lindsay (Volkland) Hilosky, Matthew Richard Hilosky, a daughter Katelyn “Katie” Jean Hilosky and four granddaughters Lacie Jane, Blakely Hope, Paisley Jean and Maisie Grace Hilosky. He is also survived by his niece Beverly Dannor of New York and his sisters-in-law Kathleen Bubnis and Patricia Roberts and his brothers-in-law Francis (Skip) Sisco and Pete Sisco. He was predeceased by his sisters June Hilosky and Joan Dannor and his father and mother-in law Francis and Catherine “Jean” (Dowgin) Sisco and two brothers-in-law Michael Sisco and Dan Dannor.
