I only worked with you a few years, but you're the type of person who leaves a lasting impression. You brought joy into the room every time you entered, with your wisecracks and constant singing. Very rarely did I ever see you in a bad mood. You loved your family wholeheartedly. My heart goes out to Debbie and the kids. Hope you're up there singing, hunting and just having fun.

Oh Damon...you will be sorely missed by everyone...you are the type of guy who's personality was larger than life. Always quick with a joke, or could bust out in a song...we knew each other since junior high school...then we worked together for over 25 years. Some of my fondest memories have you in them; when you and Steve W helped me move my giant fishtank into my apartment, all of the balloon jobs we did together blasting Alannis Morrisette; when you Pete Aaron and Karen came to rehab to visit me, and when I came back to work; sneaking up on me and shaking my wheelchair or the time you and Pete fixed my wheelchair in the warehouse when the front wheel locked up; or hearing you bust out into Type O Negative and Queensryche....or when you would call me Jodster.....I cannot believe I will never hear you do that again...you were 1 of a kind dude..they broke the mold when they made you...my only solace is that you were doing something you loved...I hope you, Scott and your dads are having a great hunting party in the great beyond. Love you and miss you my dear friend..you will never be forgotten..the Jodster

Damon was such a great guy and dedicated father and coach. I am heartbroken right now for his family and his team. He fought hard to recover, and to get this news is crushing. He was a real man, and an honest man. Everything I ever saw him do was for the right reason and always kept others in mind. He was a rare find in this world and will be so missed by so many it was always great bumping into him, and he always was waiting with a smile.
