Gerald “Jerry” Kenneth Schwear, 76, of Dayton passed away Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Millenium Memory Care of Monroe, NJ. Jerry was born in Princeton, NJ.
Jerry was a graduate of South Brunswick High School Class of 1965 and an Amy Veteran. He was employed by South Brunswick Township as a Water Foreman for 44 years. Jerry was a member of the Monmouth Junction Fire Department for 49 years and served as Chief from 1981-1982.
Predeceased by his wife Mary Potter Schwear, his parents Clyde and Marguerite Schwear, brothers Clyde Jr., Donald, Ronald and Dennis Schwear as well as his sister Mildred Sawyer.
He is survived by two daughters Lori Varga and Tracy Schwear; five grandchildren Anthony, Matthew and Kaycee Varga, Jayce and Rowan Roque; brothers Robert and David Schwear and sister Gloria Bannon.
Jerry enjoyed his free time restoring and driving his antique cars and antique tractors, attending car and tractor shows, riding his motorcycle, snowmobiling at his cabin in Pennsylvania (and anywhere else there was snow), camping, woodworking, fishing, and talking with others about all of the above.
A Visitation will be held from 2-6PM Sunday, June 27, 2021 at the M.J. Murphy Funeral Home 616 Ridge Road Monmouth Junction.
Burial will be held in Elmwood Cemetery, North Brunswick on Monday, June 28, 2021 at 11:00 AM.
