Franklin "Buck” H. College Jr. of Dayton died Saturday, May 1, 2021, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Trenton, NJ, he was a lifelong South Brunswick resident and graduated from Jamesburg High School in 1961. Buck was a United States Army Vietnam Veteran. He joined the South Brunswick Police Department in 1964, graduated from the FBI National Academy, and received his Bachelor's/ Master’s Degree from Rutgers University. Buck advanced to Chief of the South Brunswick Police Department in 1988, which he helduntil his retirement in 1994. Buck then taught Certified Public Management to officers throughout the state, consulted with departments, and remained active in law enforcement in his remaining years.
As Chief of the South Brunswick Police Department, Buck College is recognized for his many accomplishments in public outreach, officer safety, and the enhancement of the Department's technology. Buck is remembered for the depth of his care, loving stewardship, and perpetual generosity to his family and friends.
His passion and love for life were best demonstrated with the time spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren. However, anyone who knew him felt that same energy and passion. Among many activities, he loved golf and sailing, and times spent with extended family and friends.
Son of the late Franklin H. and Charlotte (King) College, Sr., he is survived by his wife Debra (Bitetti) College, two sons Daniel College, Shaun College, three daughters Colleen (College) Lock, Shannon (College) Eubanks, Kelly (College) Campos, a sister Dolores Littlejohn, eight grandchildren Bailey Fernandez, Kylie Eubanks, Ralph Eubanks III, Brendan College, Aidan College, L. Alex Campos, Michael Campos, and Ryley Campos.
The Memorial Service will be on Thursday, May 13, 2021, at the M.J. Murphy Funeral Home 616 Ridge Road at New Road, Monmouth Junction. Friends may call from 2:00 PM – 4 PM with a service to follow.
