Obituary of Orazio Castellana

Orazio Castellana, Jr, 45, of North Brunswick entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born in Newport News, VA he resided most of his life in Staten Island before moving to North Brunswick. Shortly after the bombing of the World Trade Center buildings, Orazio enlisted in the United States Army and found himself deployed to Irag in Operation Iraqi Freedom, assigned to the 874th Movement Control Team. This unit was responsible for restoring oil to all of Iraq, and restoring the oil for food program to the Iraqi people. During his time in combat, he executed selfless leadership to the Soldiers in his unit, always putting his life on the line before many of his fellow Soldiers. Among many awards Orazio received, the Meritorious Service Award is the most distinguished award, Orazio earned during his combat.

At home Orazio continued his selfless commitment to relationships with his family, children, friends and to the school community his children attended, St. Augustine School of Canterbury.

Orazio never said no to a family member or friends in need, and always put his Wife, Elizabeth and Children Kayla and Gabby first. He will be loved and missed infinitely. Orazio filled gaps of love and friendship when these gaps needed to be filled. This was always a priority in Orazio’s life, finding ways to make someone’s life better.

                           .

Orazio is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Banson) Castellana, 2 daughters Gabriella and Kayla Castellana, his Parents Orazio Castellana, Sr., Ana (Lopez) Castellana, a sister and brother in law AnaMaria and Nestor Vera, 3 nieces  Aaliyah, Mariah, Sonya, GrandMother Ana Judith Lopez, GrandMother Salvatrice Castellana.
