Ann Listner, age 98, of Monroe Township, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Garfield, NJ, she resided in South Brunswick before moving to Monroe Township in 1985. Ann’s love for her family was demonstrated every time she was together with them. We will always remember the many celebrations we spent with her and Dad, especially her excellent cooking, kind words, and caring touch. She made each of us feel special and important and she will live in our hearts forever. Her love for her sweetheart, Greg, was evident in everything she said and did and their love for each other was a very unique and special gift they gave each other every day. After losing him 29 years ago, we can all find comfort in knowing that she is once again with him and they are resting peacefully together.
Ann was an avid gardener and was happiest when she was surrounded by plants and flowers. Her passion for gardening led to her involvement in many organizations. She was a member of the Garden Club of New Jersey and the National Council of State Garden Clubs. As a member, she held many offices and attended many classes. One of her greatest accomplishments was achieving the status of Master Judge. With this title, she was able to travel extensively to many flower shows as both a participant and judge. The world is a much more beautiful place because of her many talents.
Ann was the daughter of the late Conrad and Lena Herina Hasten, wife of the late Gregory J C Listner, mother of the late Anne Kathleen Beatty, and sister of the late Janet Hasten. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gregory C. and Gloria Listner, a sister Connie Cuoco and her husband Carl Cuoco, a son-in-law George Beatty, and 5 grandchildren and their spouses and partners; Gregory Beatty and Alexis, Gregory E. Listner and Kristin, Michael Listner and Raquel, Jeffrey Listner, and Chad Listner and Chelsea. In addition, she leaves behind 11 great grandchildren; Elysia, Elena, Gregory A, Keira, Cecilia, Vivienne, Elowyn, Bhody, Avery, Hudson, Harper, and many nieces and nephews. We will eternally be grateful for the compassionate care that was given to Ann by many caring people during her time in need. You know who you are. You are true angels on earth.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at the Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Garden Club of New Jersey.
