MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL
Obituary of Karen Anne Caruso
Karen A. Caruso, 78, joined our heavenly Father in rest on March 3, 2021.
Karen was born on July 20, 1942 in Bronx, New York. In 1967, she married Pasquale “Pat” Adinolfi and moved to Scotch Plains, NJ where they grew their family and built strong roots in the community. She was widowed in 1983 and with her steadfast strength, enduring faith and unwavering positivity raised her four children on her own. She was extremely proud that her children went on to college and built families of their own.
Karen was blessed to find love a second time and married Marco Caruso in 1994. He passed away that same year. In her later years, she lived in Franklin Park, NJ where she was an active member of St. Augustine’s R.C. Church and the Columbiettes, served as the president of the Society Hill Homeowner’s Association, and enjoyed painting. Karen’s greatest gift to her family and friends was unconditional love that carried no judgements and asked for nothing in return.
Predeceased by her parents Walter and Harriet (Sposili) Childers, her husbands and her sister Catherine Arlene Lewis. Karen is survived by three brothers, James, Walter and Tom Childers; two sisters, Priscilla Thierbach and Janice Naldi. Karen is also survived by her children, Christine Pansini (Paul), Sandra Bertini (John), Theresa Mendoza (Richard), and Anthony Adinolfi (Crissy) and 8 grandchildren, Michael, Zach, Lindsay, Sophia, Patrick, Matthew, Cali and Luke.
Her surviving family and friends will miss her acceptance, humor and wisdom, but they celebrate the life she lived on her terms and take comfort that she is now at peace.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 8, 2021 from 4-6 PM at M.J. Murphy Funeral Home, 616 Ridge Rd. at New Rd. Monmouth Junction, NJ 08852.
