Meera Ramachandran, 75, of State College, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully Monday night at 10:40 pm at Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York City.
In September she was diagnosed with Stage-4 bile duct cancer. She fought valiantly until the very end with her 4 children Vasuda, Vijay, Vimal and Vidya by her side.
Meera was born in Madurai, India on September 30th, 1945 to S. Balasubramaniam Member of Parliament, India and Seetha Balasubramaniam. She attended Fatima College. In April, 1968 she married Subramania Ramachandran (1938-2020) and they were married for 52 years.
For over 50 years they made their home in State College, Pennsylvania home to Penn State University where they raised their 4 children. For friends and family and all those who visited, their home was a place filled with love and appreciation because of Meera’s hospitality. Her whole mindset in life was how to serve others and to make them happy. She will be forever rememberd for her spirit of generosity, faith, love and service. Meera is survived by her 4 children, (Vijay, Vidya, Vimal, and Vasuda), two daughters in-law (Sudha, married to Vijay, Victoria, married to Vidya), and 4 grandchildren (Sai Ganesh, Tulasi, Bodhi, and Ophelia).
