Betty Lan Eng, 56 passed away Friday, December 25, 2020. Born in Forest Hills, New York she grew up in Kendall Park, New Jersey. She resided most of her life in New York City. She was a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA. Betty worked for over 30 years as a graphic designer with careers at Calvin Klein, Banana Republic, Shahid & Co., and most recently at Michael Kors, and The Children’s Place.
Betty was the proudest of being an Aunt and showering her nephews in love and praise. She loved spending time with her friends and family and was known for having a thoughtful gift for all she would visit. She especially loved crafting and creating beautiful things whether it was beaded jewelry, pictures frames that were individual works of art or artistic collections of objects.
She was so loved by many, especially her extended Chu & Eng family and her childhood neighbors as well as other dear relatives, friends, and co-workers. All held a special place in her heart, and many considered her to be a sister.
Daughter of Shu Beam Eng and Cora Eng, she is survived by her parents and brother Rickey Eng, his wife Tammy Eng and her 2 nephews, Rickey Eng and Dylan Eng.
A memorial service will be held at a future time when family and friends may safely gather to honor and celebrate her life.
In lieu of flowers we have created a Go Fund Me account which will be used for the Betty Eng Memorial Scholarship to provide a small annual scholarship to a high school senior planning to study fine arts in college.
