Gordon Andrew Thompson was born on May 1, 1960 in Georgetown, Guyana. Gordon was the second of three children of Neville and Johanna Thompson. Growing up, Gordon who was known as Bobby, was an energetic, charismatic and outgoing person. Around the age of 9 years old, he migrated to the United States with his parents and siblings and lived in Brooklyn. Later, the family would move to Queens where he attended Springfield Gardens High School. He received many accolades for his achievements in wrestling during his high school years. Gordon then attended Hunter College at the age of 18 which is where he graduated and received his bachelor’s degree. Afterwards, he became an army reservist. Hunter College was where he met Millie who would later become his wife for the next 34 years. Gordon and Millie had three beautiful children, Jennifer, Samantha and Gordon II. Professionally, Gordon, worked diligently in the narcotics division of the New York Police Dept, when he became a NYPD Detective. He worked with the NYPD for 20 years which he then retired at the age of 45 to care for his children. Some of Gordon’s great loves was traveling, scuba diving, fishing, camping, skiing as well as athletics. Gordon was a loving husband, wonderful father and son. Gordon will be remembered for his acts of kindness, love and generosity.
Gordon is survived by his wife, Millie, his 3 children, Jennifer, Samantha and Gordon II, his mother, Johanna and his 2 nephews, Louis and Jordan. Gordon will be sorely missed by all. Gordon's nephew
