Percy R. Bremer, 93, of Monmouth Junction passed away peacefully on June 23, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family.Percy was born in Plainfield,and grew up in Scotch Plains,lived in Somerset for over 30 years,and for the last 15 years in Monmouth Junction. He was one of nine siblings and as a youth helped his father work the family vegetable farm,and sell them at market. He was an Army veteran and served as a Corporal during the Korean War and was stationed in the Philippines. Percy married his sweetheart Marie on May 6, 1950,and they were married for 60 years. He worked at New Jersey Aluminum Extrusion Company for 35 years until he retired at age 62. He and his family took care of his wife with Alzheimers at home for many years before her passing in 2010. Percy enjoyed spending time with his family,watching old westerns, listening to country music,fishing and was a big pro wrestling fan.
He was predeceased by his wife Marie (Sheridan) Bremer; son Michael Bremer; parents Edward and Gertrude (Nelson) Bremer; brothers Edward Bremer and his wife Chris, John Bremer and his wife Camella,and Elmer Bremer and his wife Mary;Sister in law Doris Bremer and sisters Gertrude Hurley and husband Luke, Jean Dame and husband Amos and Clara Verrone and husband Peter;and brother in law, Alan Jamieson.
He is survived by his son John Bremer; daughter,Regina and son-in-law John Cook; grandchildren Joshua, Jamie, and Alyssa Rose; great grandchildren Christopher, Dominic, Gianna Marie, and Lilah; Sister Mildred Jamieson and Donald Bremerand many nieces and nephews.He had many animals over the years but he will be dearly missed by his 15 year old cat Buster and dog Dunkin.
Private services for the family will be held.
