Francis Aloysius Collins, 91, of Kendall Park passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, January 6, 2020.
Born in Jersey City, NJ, he lived in Choctaw, OK and Dayton Beach, FL before settling in Kendall Park, NJ. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked as a mail handler at the United States Postal Service. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was a gentle, caring, loving, hard working family man. He had a great sense of humor & loved music. He often said “What would we do without music.” He touched the hearts of those he met & was well loved by them. He & his smile and his gentle ways will be very much missed by his loved ones, his friends and those he met along the journey of his life. Good Bless him Always and in All Ways and May he Rest In Peace.
Predeceased by his parents Peter and Lucy (Krieg) Collins; his wife of 64 years Theresa Patricia (O’Neill) Collins; his son Michael Collins; his brother Peter Collins; and his sister Marion DeStefano; he is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law David F. Collins and Madeline I. Cruz, Francis and Annie Collins, and Marlene Lao Collins; his three daughters and sons-in-law Christine and Anthony Costantino, Diane L. Collins and Glenn Blue, and Theresa Collins; his 15 grandchildren; his 14 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Thursday, January 9, 2020 from 5-8 PM with a funeral service at 7 PM at the M.J. Murphy Funeral Home, 616 Ridge Road at New Road, Monmouth Junction, NJ 08852.
