Michael D. Perkins, 71, of Dayton died Tuesday, September 24, 2019 surrounded by his loving family at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center, Plainsboro. Born in DeQuincy, Louisiana, he resided most of his life in South Brunswick, NJ. He was a United States Army Vietnam War Veteran. Michael retired in 2010 with over 40 years of service as a Communication Technician with Verizon, East Brunswick. He was a member of the American Legion Post 401, longtime volunteer with the Monmouth Junction Fire Department and a set builder for plays at Crossroads South School.
Son of the late Alroy and Mary L. (McDaniels) Perkins, brother of the late John Wayne Perkins, he is survived by his wife of 49 years Susan (Chabina) Perkins, a son Michel J. Perkins, a daughter and son in law Brittany and Michael Werkheiser, a sister Carolyn Bunch and a grandson Jack Michael Werkheiser.
The Funeral Service will be held 4:00 pm on Friday, September 27, 2019 at the M.J. Murphy Funeral Home 616 Ridge Road at New Road, Monmouth Junction.
The Visitation will be held on Friday from 2:00 pm until the time of the service at the funeral home.
