Obituary of Jacques Andre Bell

Jacques Andre Bell, age 48, of South Brunswick, NJ, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2019 in Philadelphia at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born in Newark, NJ, on January 12, 1971, to Willie and Gerardine Bell.

Dre was a family man. He gave the very best of himself as a dad, pops, son, uncle, nephew, and big brother. Dre’s quiet calm and unwavering kindness made him a devoted and trusted friend and family member; he was the glue that held all family together, near and far. Dre thoroughly enjoyed a good laugh, a summer barbecue, a cold beer, a pick-up basketball game, and a winning Eagles game. Dre spent the last 24 years of his career in sales at Brookside Veneers. Brookside was his second family. His work ethic, positive attitude, and sense of humor earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and customers. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Dre is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Deborah (nee Custer); children Jo-Rae (Eddie) Jennings, Isaiah, Adriana and Naomi; grandchildren Kameron and Ethan; parents, Willie (Deborah) and Gerardine Bell; siblings Troy Bell, Gwendolyn Singleton, Jennifer Bell, Capricia Bell, Joseph Echols III, Shayna Bell and Sean (Sherry) Bell; his father-in-law, Silvio Custer, and mother-in-law, Almaz Custer. Dre is also survived by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Willie Mason and Johnnie Mae Jett, and his paternal grandparents, Willie Bell Sr. and Cora Lee Bryant.

Services will be held on Saturday, March 30th, at St. Peter the Apostle Church, 94 Somerset Street, New Brunswick NJ.

A visiting hour will begin at 9:00am, followed by Mass at 10:00am.

Burial and repass will follow the Mass.

Burial will be held at Elmwood Cemetery, 425 Georges Road, North Brunswick, NJ.
