John G. Potts, 84, of Griggstown died Monday, March 25, 2019 at Elms of Cranbury surrounded by his loving family. Born in Kingston, he resided most of his life Griggstown. John was a member of the Franklin Township Board of Adjustment and Planning Board as well as the Somerset County Republican Party. He was an accomplished decoy carver and enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Son of the late Chester Merchleus and Alice Sophia (Davison) Potts, brother of the late Chester Potts and Roger Potts, he is survived by his loving wife Arlene M. (Horvath) Potts, 3 sons and 3 daughters-in-law John and Mary Potts, Scott and Kathie Potts, Brian and Bobbi Jo Potts, a daughter and son-in-law Allison and Keith McCoy, 3 brothers Robert Potts, David Potts, William Potts, 2 sisters Margaret Perone and Phyllis Bucconfuso, 9 grandchildren Jordan, Brandon, Travis, Kelly, Chris, Alisha, Eric, Kevin and Erin.
The Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am on Friday, March 29, 2019 at the M.J. Murphy Funeral Home 616 Ridge Road at New Road, Monmouth Junction.Friends may call on Friday morning from 9:00 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
