Obituary of John Golias, Sr.
John Edward Golias, Sr., 86, of Kendall Park, died Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Swoyersville, PA he has been a resident of Kendall Park for over 60 years. He was a United States Airforce Korean War Veteran. John was Assistant Scout Master for Troop 90, Cub Master for Pack 98, a member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Church and an avid New York Mets, Jets and Knicks Fan.
Son of the late John and Helen (Harchar) Golias, brother of the late Thomas Golias, Helen Jarski, Betty Valko, he is survived by his wife of 62 years Elizabeth J. “Betty” Golias, 3 sons and 2 daughters-in-law John E. Golias, Jr., Gregg A. and Barbara Golias, Glenn A. and Stephanie Golias, a sister and brother-in-law Maryanne and Thomas Kelly, 2 grandchildren Michael Golias and his wife Johanna, Lauren Golias and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held 9:00 am on Friday, September 28, 2018 from the M.J. Murphy Funeral Home 616 Ridge Road at New Road, Monmouth Junction.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am on Friday, September 28, 2018, St. Augustine of Canterbury Church 45 Henderson Road, Kendall Park.
Burial will follow in the Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway. Friends may call on Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 3:00 until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital
