Obituary of Clara McFerrin
Clara Ann (Mauser) McFerrin, age 85 of Monmouth Jct. NJ, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2018 after an extended illness.
Clara was a strong and independent woman. She was a devoted Daughter, Mother, Sister, Grandparent, Caregiver and loyal Friend to all who knew her.
She loved children and was most recently employed as a Caregiver with the Goddard School in Dayton, NJ before retiring.
Clara was extremely proud to be the Matriarch of her large extended family. She especially loved to entertain and prepare traditional Holiday meals including her specialties like nut rolls and stuffed cabbage s, laboring for hours at a time. She also enjoyed traveling, playing the piano and was an avid reader.
Clara was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Mary& Amil Mauser, and her brother Albert Mauser and her sister in law Gail Mauser. She is survived by her 2 brothers, Charles Mauser and Cecil and Shirley Mauser, her 6 loving children, Christine (McFerrin) Miller, Diane (McFerrin) Zampino, Eugene McFerrin, Thomas McFerrin, Robert McFerrin, Mary (McFerrin) Farkas, 10 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great-Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Clara was a member of Saint Cecilia’s Catholic Church for 50+ years. She was a devoted child of god and loved going to church. She whole heartedly believed that God had a plan for all of us and it was our job to do the best we could and accept his plan.
She will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am on Monday, March 5, 2018, St. Cecilia’s Church 10 Kingston Lane, Monmouth Junction. Burial will follow in the St. James Cemetery, Jamesburg. Friends may call on Monday, March 5, 2018 from 8:30 am until 9:30 am at the M.J. Murphy Funeral Home 616 Ridge Road at New Road, Monmouth Junction.
