Peter Daniel Scibienski died the morning of April 20th at his home in Somerset, NJ with his wife of 21 years by his side. He was 64 years old.
An enduring lover of music, the arts, history and learning, Pete touched the lives of all he met with his playful spirit and generous heart. He was an avid storyteller and a relentless historian, always ready and eager to give you an enthusiastic lesson or two (or three). He was a devoted, loving, hardworking father to his two sons, Daniel and Joseph, both of whom meant the world to him.
Pete was an integral member of the Grace Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon for many years. His work for the church was one of the many ways Pete demonstrated his kindness and caring nature to members of his community. Even in his death, Pete continues to give to the world through the donation of his body to the study of science (UMDNJ).
He is survived by an adoring family, including his wife, Beth, nee Hentschel; his siblings Bernie (Patricia), Annie (Terry), and Elizabeth; his two sons, Daniel (Faith) and Joseph (Teal), and his two grandchildren, Julia and Mateo; his closest cousin, Maureen, and a pride of nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Friday, April 28th at Grace Presbyterian Church in Kendall Park, NJ. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, April 29th at First Presbyterian Church at Dayton 362 Georges Road Dayton, NJ 08810. The family invites all who wish to join Team Scibienski the following day in the North Brunswick MS Walk at Veterans Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
From the hour of death until the deceased's final disposition, the M.J.Murphy funeral director is there to help you through a difficult time. We will serve as an advisor, an administrator, a supporter and a caregiver.
