Patricia C. Banks-Greves

Patricia C. Banks-Greves, 87, of Monroe, New Jersey, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022.

Patricia was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, to parents John and Dorothy Banks.  After discovering an advertisement for a summer house in Sussex County, NJ, Dorothy Banks introduced Patricia and her siblings to the beauty that is Lake Owassa.  When Patricia met and married the love of her life, James L. Greves, Jr., the couple settled down in Brooklyn to raise their family, leaving the hot summers of Brooklyn to enjoy the beauty of nature at Lake Owassa.  Whether she was in the city or the country house, there was one thing that never changed.  Patricia was the neighbor whom everyone wished they had.  Social by nature, she welcomed everyone, laughed with everyone, fed everyone, chatted with anyone and simply showed love and kindness to all.  As her children grew older, Patricia began working in a Brooklyn preschool.  Her kind and nurturing nature benefitted these young children, particularly those with special needs.

In 2004, Patricia and Jim moved to the community of Rossmoor, in Monroe, NJ.  This was the perfect fit for Patricia, as it allowed her to socialize with a whole new group of people, many whom became good friends.  She was an active member in the community, taking part in the many clubs at Rossmoor.  Whether it was an activity she enjoyed throughout her life, such as swimming, bowling, Pinochle and Brooklyn Garbage card games, or an activity she discovered there, such as Bocce, Patricia could be relied on to take part and enjoy the social interaction that it offered.

Patricia was predeceased in death by her parents John and Dorothy Banks, husband James L. Greves Jr., son James P Greves and brother and sister-in-law John (Jack) and Lois Banks.  Patricia is survived by her children Cynthia Greves-House, Peter J. Greves (Yolanda Rivera), Matthew J. Greves, and Paul D. Greves; brother Timothy J. Banks; sister Lorraine Casey (the late Vincent); two grandchildren, Peter J. Greves-Rivera and Clinton J. House (Jennifer); and three great grandchildren, Logan J., Autumn E., and Ryleigh R.  Patricia is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A private Memorial Service will be held for Patricia.
