Gloria M. Zimmerman
Gloria, who loved to be called “Momma” by her Grandchildren and “Great Momma” by her Great Grandchildren departed her loving family on January 3, 2022 at the age of 89.
Gloria was born in New York City, NY to Frank and Eva Dunleavy. Over the past year, she resided at Homestead at Hamilton in Hamilton, NJ
She enjoyed her role as an employee at Macy’s. She had a knack for retail sales and dressing the mannequins and patrons in the Men’s Department.
One of her most favorite things that was very important to her was celebrating Christmas Eve. She insisted (actually demanded) that all of her family be together on this night and because of this, we have the most incredible memories to cherish and remember her by.
She was a poker player and bingo player, loved to gamble in Atlantic City and could sit at the poker machine for hours.
She was elected President of the Golden Age Club at her Senior Center in South Brunswick, NJ, and ran their Atlantic City bus trips.
She was an avid reader and loved to cook. Gloria was an incredible seamstress and could create anything with a sewing machine to perfection. She had also created enormous needlepoint canvases depicting the most intricate pictures. She was an amazing home decorator and enjoyed redecorating her home, which she did quite often. Gloria was also a huge animal lover and has passed that love on to all of her family.
Her greatest achievements were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Gloria is predeceased by her loving husband, Irving Zimmerman, her parents, Frank and Eva Dunleavy, her sisters, Constance Boyer, Frances Buckley and Isabelle Dunleavy, her brother, Frank Dunleavy. She also doted on her beloved fur babies, Molly, a Beagle, and Baby, a Shih Tsu.
