Arverta P. Viana, 77, of Kendall Park passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center of Plainsboro. She was born in Trenton, NJ.
Arverta was a teacher at Hillcrest Elementary School in Somerset for 40 years. She was a life long member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church. She had a passion for dogs. Arverta was a member of the Princeton Dog Training Club. She had a number of championship show dogs. Surprise and Misty were just a few of her prized Belgian Shepherds. She also enjoyed reading and needle pointing in her spare time.
Predeceased by her parents George and Ada Payran, she is survived by her loving husband Allan T. Viana, a brother and sister-in-law George and Sharon Payran ( Egg Harbor), and a brother-in-law Donald Viana ( Fords ).
A Visitation will be held from 10:30 AM to 12:30PM on Wednesday May 5, 2021 at M. J. Murphy Funeral Home 616 Ridge Road Monmouth Junction. Burial will follow at 1PM in Holy Cross Burial Park 840 Cranbury South River Road Jamesburg. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10am on June 8, 2021 at St. Augustine of Canterbury Church 45 Henderson Road Kendall Park.
