Alicia E. Cotilla, 98, of Princeton died Monday, March 9, 2020 at The Chelsea at Forsgate surrounded by her loving family. Born in Union de Reyes, Cuba she immigrated to the United States in 1961 and was a resident of Staten Island since 1963 until she and her husband relocated to Griggstown in1999. Alicia was a member of the Mermaid Swim Club where some of her favorite friendships were created later in life. She was a great cook, skilled seamstress and loved making outfits for the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, wife and friend to many people and will be sorely missed. Daughter of the late Francisco and Dolores Diaz Nunez Rojo, wife of the late Evaristo J. Cotilla, she is survived by 3 sons, Evaristo F. and Carolyn Cotilla, Raul J. Cotilla and Katherine S. Jindra, Francisco J. and Liz Cotilla, a daughter Alicia M. Cotilla, 11 grandchildren: Deidre, Asher, Daniel, Alana, Julia, Sebastian, Jilian, Timothy, Brent, Victoria and Christopher and nine great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at the M.J. Murphy Funeral Home 616 Ridge Road at New Road, Monmouth Junction. Visitation will be held from 12Noon until the time of the service at the funeral home.
