Charles H. “Buddy” Scherer, II, 91, of Monmouth Junction died Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Merwick Care & Rehab Center of Plainsboro surrounded by his loving family. Born in New Brunswick, he has been a lifelong resident of South Brunswick. He was a United States Army World War II Veteran. Charles retired in 1996 with over 33 years of service as a paint sprayer with the Ford Motor Company. He was an exempt member of the New Market Fire Company, exempt member of the Fireman’s Relief Association, member of the American Legion Post 401, member of the South Brunswick Senior Center and the Golden Agers. He was an avid Nascar and Cowboy Fan, loved gardening and enjoyed his trips to Atlantic City.
Son of the late Charles H. and Clara (Dorn) Scherer, husband of the late Margaret C. Scherer, father of the late Shirley Scherer, Clare Arroyo, Companion of his beloved dog Smokey, he is survived by 2 sons and a daughter in law Richard J. and Susan Scherer, Charles H. Scherer, III 5 daughters and 4 sons in law Susan A. Patti, Catherine M. and Doug Wolfe, Georgette and Kenneth Derr, Jeanne and Richard DePinto, Susie and Bobby England, 18 grandchildren James Jr., Doug Jr., Matt, Kim, Karen, Sharon, Bradley, Chuck IV, Jennifer, Richard Jr., Diane, Frank Jr., Jose, Joey, Jessica, Casey, Bobby Jr., and Melissa, Many Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren.
The Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, February 16 2018 at the M.J. Murphy Funeral Home 616 Ridge Road at New Road, Monmouth Junction. Burial will follow in the Holy Cross Burial Park.
Friends may call on Friday, February 15, 2019 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
