Edwin R. Maldonado, 70, of Kendall Park died Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center of Plainsboro. Born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, he resided in Old Bridge before moving to Kendall Park in 1999. Edwin was a United States Army Vietnam Veteran where he served as an Army Ranger. He retired in 2009 with over 25 years of service as Mail Carrier with the United States Postal Service. Edwin served in the Army reserves for over 30 years. He was an active member of Seeing Eye-Morristown, St. Augustine of Canterbury Church. He loved basketball, boxing and reading about American History.
Son of the late Rafael and Ana Luisa (Perez) Maldonado, he is survived by his wife Susan J. Phillips, 2 sons and daughters-in-law Eric and Christina Maldonado, Chad and Lisa Maldonado, a sister and brother-in-law Daphne and Sam Cuebas.
The funeral will be held 9:00 am on Friday, February 8, 2019 from the M.J. Murphy Funeral Home 616 Ridge Road at New Road, Monmouth Junction. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am, St. Augustine of Canterbury 45 Henderson Road, Kendall Park. Burial will follow in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, February 7, 2019 from 4-8 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Seeing Eye, P.O.
