Walter John Yuras, Sr.

Walter John Yuras, Sr., 73, of Monroe Township passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019.


Born in Jersey City, he resided in Little Rocky Hill for most of his life before moving to Monroe Township after he retired. He was employed by D'Amico's Lincoln and Mercury, East Brunswick, as an Auto Mechanic and later worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car. He was a member and former Chief of the Little Rocky Hill Fire Department. Walter truly loved his family.


Predeceased by his parents, Peter and Julia (Mistyhn) Yuras; and his brothers Peter and Stephen Yuras; he is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda Kay (Bastedo) Yuras; two daughters and a son-in-law, Tammy L. and Stanley Stempinski, and Pamela A. Murphy; his son, Walter J. Yuras, Jr. (Diana Aler);  his grandchildren, Mike and Alyse Koller, Thomas and Ashton Murphy, Andrew Murphy, and Tyler Murphy; his sisters, Darlene Sanphy, Linda Montouri and Dorothy Wiley; and his cat Missy, his furry little nurse who was always by his side during his illness.


Visitation will be on Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 2-5pm at M.J. Murphy Funeral Home, 616 Ridge Road at New Road, Monmouth Junction, NJ 08852. Funeral will begin at 9am on Monday, January 28, 2019 at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am at St. Augustine of Canterbury Church, 45 Henderson Road, Kendall Park, NJ 08852.  Burial will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
