Private Services were held on January 7, 2019 for L. Allan Shuke, a resident of South Brunswick.
An undergraduate of East Tennessee State University, Allan began his career with McGraw-Hill, Inc. in New York; however, Uncle Sam had other ideas. His next assignment was in Vietnam where he served with the 1st Infantry Division and the 11th Armored Calvary Regiment. Upon returning home, he taught high school English and literature, received his MBA from Rutgers University and ultimately retired as School Business Administrator for Middlesex County Vocational Technical Schools after 23 years of service to the district.
Allan had many interests, talents and friends. He is remembered by those friends as being thoughtful, honest and kind. He occupied a special place in the lives and hearts of his family and will especially be missed by Laura, Lauren and Elliot.
For those wishing to donate in Allan’s memory, contributions to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (https://giving.mskcc.org) or The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation (www.cholangiocarcinoma.org) would be appreciated.
