Obituary of Shou-Chuan Kuo

KUO, SHOU-CHUAN (JOAN) age 78, long-time Kendall Park resident passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017.


Born in the Hunan Province of China, Shou-Chuan moved to Taiwan and graduated from Soochow University with a degree in Economics.  After immigrating to the US, she raised her sons and had a career in accounting roles for various NJ corporations.  Shou-Chuan doted on her family and enjoyed cooking.  She was a talented creative writer and was regularly published in various publications including the Chinese World Journal.


She was the daughter of the late Chun-Kuei and Yun-Chen Ling.  She was the beloved wife of Jason for 52 years; loving mother of George (Dana) and Frank; cherished grandmother of Katherine and Eleanor; caring sister of Shou-Yuan Chang, Chien-Shiung, and Shou-Fan Chen.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  


Friends will be received Friday, December 1, 2017, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at M.J. Murphy Funeral Home, 616 Ridge Rd. near New Rd in Monmouth Junction. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, December 2 at 10 a.m.at St Augustine of Canterbury Roman Catholic Church at 45 Henderson Road in Kendall Park.  Burial will be at the Princeton Cemetery.

享壽78. 她 居住 Kendall Park 多年, 痛於 2017年11月27日 仙逝.

受娟 出生於 中國湖南省, 後移居台灣. 畢業於台灣東吳大學, 主修經濟, 獲得經濟學士學位.

移民來美國後 相夫教子, 並曾在 New Jersey 的許多公司行號, 從事與會計業務有關的工作.

受娟至愛家庭, 尤精烹調. 也是一個才能出眾的作家. 常在不同的報章雜誌, 像是世界日報等, 刋出她的文章作品.

她 是已故父母 Chun-Kuei 和 Yun-Chen 凌 的愛女; Jason 郭自滌 52年相伴的結髮賢妻; George 郭 (妻Dana) 和 Frank 郭 的慈愛母親; Katherine 郭 和 Eleanor 郭 的慈祥祖母; 也是常照應  Shou-Yuan Chang, Chien-Shiung, 和 Shou-Fan 等親朋的好姐妹.

身後留下眾多的 晚輩 侄兒 姪女 外甥 外甥女 等.

親朋弔唁時間: 星期五,2017 年12月 1日, 下午 2-4 時, 傍晚7-9 時. 地點: M.J. Murphy 殯儀館, 616 Ridge Rd. 靠近 New Rd, Monmouth Junction. 天主教彌撒儀式定於星期六 12月2日, 上午10 點, 地址在 St Augustine of Canterbury Roman Catholic Church, 45 Henderson Road in Kendall Park.

安葬於普林斯頓墓園 (Princeton Cemetery).
