Edna L. Thompson, of Monroe Township died Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 20, 1931 in Irvington, New Jersey, she resided in Kendall Park and Venice Florida (in winters) before moving to Monroe Township twenty years ago. Edna was a member of the Six Mile Run Reformed Church and the Women’s Guild, the Women’s Club of South Brunswick, the Voice of Clearbrook and the Protestant Fellowship. She was very active in the Clearbrook community and participated in many activities. Edna was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by all that loved her.
Predeceased by her parents Edgar and Helen Leiss, the love of her life William H. Thompson, III, whom she was married to for 56 years, and her sister Doris Lynch, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law William J. and Susan Thompson, 2 daughters and 2 sons-in-law Patricia and Randy Gregory, Cynthia and Frank Rao, sister Alma McGovern, 5 grandchildren Kaitlin, William J. Jr., Scott, Michael, Tyler and a great-grandson Gavin.
The funeral service will be held 6:00 pm on Monday, May 1, 2017 at the M.J. Murphy Funeral Home 616 Ridge Road at New Road, Monmouth Junction.
Visitation will be on Monday from 3:00 pm until the time of the service at the funeral home. Entombment in Franklin Memorial Park will be private.
