John (Jack) J. Clute Sr., 87 of Kendall Park, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 11, 2017 at his home. Born in Schenectady, New York to Peter and Catharine Clute, he lived most of his life in Kendall Park.
Jack was a passionate, good man that loved and cherished his wife and family. His family was the most important thing to him. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jane and his five children and their spouses, John Jr. and Selena Clute, Patricia and Gary Fox-Abbott, Kathleen and Joseph Marron, Peter and Angela Clute, and Suzanne and Joseph Melillo. He was also grandfather to 12 grandchildren and great-grandfather to 3 great grandchildren.
Jack spent his career as a sales executive at Essex Corporation selling magnet wire to various large companies. In his retirement he enjoyed traveling with his family but his greatest hobby was his model railroads. He spent many hours crafting and creating many locomotive layouts. He was quite proud of this. He also was known for his unique whistling talent and was often referred to as “The Whistler”.
Jack will be laid to rest from M.J. Murphy Funeral Home, 616 Ridge Road at New Road, Monmouth Junction. Calling Hours will be Thursday, December 14, 2017 from 2pm - 4pm and 7pm - 9pm at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 10am at St. Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church, 10 Kingston Lane, Monmouth Junction, followed by entombment at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
He will be truly missed but his family will cherish his memory always. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to The Alzheimer's Foundation of America or Compassionate Care Hospice.
