Rosemarie Troutman Jacobsen

ROSEMARIE TROUTMAN JACOBSEN, 88, of Monmouth Junction, passed away Thursday August 10th at Brandywine Senior Living, Princeton.  Born and raised in Long Branch, she lived in Oceanport and Monmouth Beach before moving to South Brunswick in 2006.
She is a graduate of Long Branch High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Monmouth College.  Mrs. Jacobsen was an elementary school teacher for the Township of Ocean Board of Education, retiring in 1992 after 22 years of service.  She enjoyed working with young children and especially loved spending time with her granddaughters at her beach house when they were young.
Her husband of 47 years, Clemens N. "Jake" Jacobsen, a Navy veteran, predeceased her in 1999.  Prior to his passing, the couple enjoyed traveling and embarked on many cruise vacations.  They were also co-owners of several thoroughbred race horses over the years.  Rosemarie was a nature lover and conservationist, and contributed to many charitable causes.  She was a loving and committed wife, mother, and grandmother.
Rosemarie is survived by a son, William C., Monmouth Junction; a daughter, Kathryn L., Trenton; a daughter-in-law Marian; and her granddaughters, Christine N. Jacobsen and Karen M. Chmielinski. 
Funeral services will be Tuesday August 15th at 8:30 PM at the MJ Murphy Funeral Home, 616 Ridge Road, Monmouth Junction.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 PM and from 7 PM until the time of the service.  Those wishing to remember her may make a contribution in lieu of flowers to the Alzheimer's Association.
